"This is a photo of my friend Charlie's ? (Don't know his last name) scratch-built small ag-cat which we test-flew today.

Charlie is a prolific builder who has had me test-fly a different airplane every Saturday for the last 3-4 months. All of Charlie's creations are as beautiful as the "Bobcat".

The Bobcat has a 48 inch wingspan. Weighs about 4-1/2 pounds and uses an O.S. .20 Surpass for power. Monokote finish. A very nice example of a different sport airplane."

"The is of one of my flying buddies Shawn Carney's highly modified Great Planes' Sportser Bipe.

His modifications include omitting the wingtips, re-shaped the horizontal and vertical tail surfaces, shortened the fuselage 3 inches. Shawn also added stringers to the fuselage sides in an effort to elliminate the slab sides.

Wing span is about 42 inches, Saito .65 turning an APC 12x8 propellor. Shawn's un-named bipe weighs in at 5-1/2 pounds. Great flyer! Very fun."

Ninja Star
Lee B Van Tassle
9/3/98

This plane is the brain child of Don Incoll of Healesville (near Melbourne), Australia. His web site is http://www.hard.net.au/~incoll/aeromodl.htm and boy does he have some odd models. This Ninja Star is the second generation and is slightly bigger than the first. Even though it looks odd, it really does fly well. This model is being prototyped in the Australia, USA, Russia and Okinawa, Japan (that's where I'm at...no, I'm not Japanese, just a displaced American.) My Ninja Star is the third to fly in this galaxy, the second to fly in this size class, the first built and flown by other than Don and an unusual sight no matter where it warped too.

Weight: 5.25lbs (84 oz)
Area: 3.2 sq ft (460 sq in)-tips and horizontal stabs

Here are some pics of my brother Dan's latest project: Cermark Extra
300S(L?). It has passed through many hands at our local flying field
(for almost as many reasons) until he came into possesion of it as a
result of one of our members "auger"-ing it in one Saturday morning.

This is definately the best this model has ever looked or flown.
Builder and Pilot- Dan Savage

Wingspan- 62 inches
Weight- About 8-9 lbs (hands scale)
Engine- Saito 120

Green Hangar Hobbies RFB-600

Jon Stephenson
Tampa, FL.

I bumped into Jon at the flying field the other day. His company, Green Hangar Aircraft, is selling this great kit of a scale German ducted fan trainer. I remember RCM had a construction article for one of these using 1/2-A power. Jon has scaled up the plans and recommends either an OS FX25 or a slightly modified OS 30 Wankel engine. It's a great looking plane, handles like a pussy cat, but can fly like a rocket. This would make a great first-time ducted fan model.

"I am from Munich, Germany and I found the your web page. I don't think you have a picture of a REAL Penguin and an RC-model! In November 1995 I flew in Antarctica the first electrical RC-model (I think so) near our German Antactica Station."

Send me your photos along with your name and a description of your plane. If I use your photo you get nothing but the admiration (and occasional snicker) from your fellow peers. If I don't use it, I'll tack it up in my workshop and claim I built it. E-Mail it or Snail Mail it, your choice.
